Best E-Cigarette for: The complete beginner

Best E-Cigarette 2012 V2 Cigs

Overall, I consider V2 Cigs the best e-cigarette of 2012 because the company has made so many positive changes that put it ahead of the pack in terms of value, quality and customer service. Out of all the e-cigarette companies on this list, V2 Cigs is the only one that offers a lifetime warranty on every product except refill cartridges. If you check the fine print on virtually every other e-cigarette warranty in the world, you’ll notice that it doesn’t cover batteries or portable charging cases — but V2 covers everything for as long as you remain a customer. That’s a tremendous value.

The other thing I like about V2’s customer service is the fact that you can instantly pull the quality control report on any bottle of e-liquid or package of cartridges by visiting the website. At the present time, no other company offers this feature.

V2 Cigs offers starter kits in every price range from the $24.95 Express Kit to the $179.95 Ultimate Kit, which includes enough cartridges to last at least a month, some of the best e-cigarette storage accessories I’ve ever seen and a huge deluxe box. I recommend V2 Cigs to complete beginners because I love the company’s commitment to customer service and believe new e-smokers will appreciate how easy the product is to use. All you need to do is connect a refill cartridge and smoke until the battery light blinks or the cartridge stops producing flavor. For most people, a new V2 Cigs refill cartridge provides enough nicotine liquid for a day of smoking.

Vapor Couture is the second product from V2 Cigs. Vapor Couture e-cigarettes are designed to be a bit more fashionable, with several battery and cartridge designs available to complement different tastes. It’s designed with women in mind, so if you’re a fashionable female smoker, you might want to take a look. The Vapor Couture products have exactly the same customer service and quality control features as the core V2 Cigs e-cigarette.

Best E-Cigarette of 2012 (Experienced E-Smokers)

Envy Ego-Tank

Price: No longer available

Coupon Code: vapegrl (25% off)

Best E-Cigarette for: Heavy smokers and experienced e-smokers

Best E-Cigarette 2012 Envy Ego-Tank

The heavier you smoke, the more difficult switching to e-cigarettes can become. You don’t just smoke for the taste; you smoke for the strong nicotine sensation in the throat and lungs. E-cigarette users call it “throat hit,” and the best way to get it is with a larger e-cigarette. The Envy Ego-Tank has a huge battery that produces massive vapor for up to a day or more between charges, and the tanks store far more nicotine liquid than a standard e-cigarette cartridge.

The other great feature of the Envy Ego-Tank is the fact that the battery also supports other types of liquid delivery systems. You can use any atomizer, cartomizer or tank with eGo, 510 or 306 threading. So, if you find an attachment that you like better than Envy’s tank system, you can use it without any problem.

Using the Envy Ego-Tank isn’t quite as simple as using the V2 Cigs and Vapor Couture e-cigarettes, the models that I selected as the best e-cigarettes of 2012. That’s why I recommend it mainly for experienced e-cigarette owners and people who are willing to go the extra mile for increased vapor and nicotine hit. However, using it is still relatively simple. Each tank has a soft cap that you can remove with a fingernail. Just pour in a bit of liquid, push the cap back on and slide the tank into the atomizer. When the Envy Ego-Tank is completely full, it holds roughly the equivalent of two standard e-cigarette cartridges. That’s enough to keep even the heaviest e-smoker going for quite a while.

Best E-Cigarette of 2012 (Mod)

Volcano Lavatube

Price: $99.99 and up | Buy Now | Buy in Europe

Best E-Cigarette for: E-smokers who need the best vapor production possible

Best E-Cigarette 2012 Volcano Lavatube

After I had been using my e-cigarette for a while, I came to the realization that I closely equated the amount of vapor created with the satisfaction I felt when e-smoking. I switched to a low-resistance atomizer, which definitely improved vapor production. I still found myself wishing for more, though. When Volcano released the variable-voltage Lavatube, I had to give it a try. I’ve been a variable-voltage girl all the way ever since.

As you might have guessed, the Lavatube lets you control vapor production by raising and lowering the voltage as you like. This is accomplished with two easy buttons on the front. One raises the voltage by .1 while the other lowers it. Press the large button when you’re ready to puff, and enjoy. Since the Lavatube has a 1600 mAh battery, it can easily last most people all day even at the highest voltage setting.

The Lavatube is much larger than a typical e-cigarette. In fact, given the size difference it might be more accurate to call it a “personal vaporizer.” It’s also a bit temperamental in that you can easily get some harsh, dry vapor if you set the voltage too high or allow your atomizer or cartomizer to become dry. For experienced e-smokers who have learned how to deal with finicky equipment, though, the learning curve is worth mastering. The Lavatube is pure, affordable power and it’s worth every penny.
