One of the things that makes e-smoking so exciting compared to smoking is the large variety of e-cigarette flavors you can choose from. The ban on flavored cigarettes that removed unique products by Djarum, Nat Sherman, Camel and other companies from the market in 2009 has yet to affect the e-cigarette industry for the time being. Not only can you satisfy your nicotine cravings without smoke, but you can also experience e-cigarette flavors that wouldn’t be possible with the inclusion of tobacco. In this article, I’d like to describe some of the possible flavors that you can expect. I’ll also recommend a few of my favorites for you to try.

Tobacco E-Cigarette Flavors
My favorites: Black Note (all flavors), Halo Turkish Tobacco
For me, tobacco e-cigarette flavors are the most exciting because there are so many different types of tobacco, and every e-liquid maker has a slightly different idea of the elements needed to achieve those flavors. If you’re trying to recreate the taste of a cigarette, for example, do you go for the dry, ashy taste of a Marlboro? Or, do you try to recreate the rich, dark taste of a Davidoff? What flavors will you add to your e-cigarette liquid to get that taste without tobacco or combustion? If you’re a smoker who really loves tobacco, this has to be the most interesting e-cigarette flavor category because there’s no end to the possibilities.
Menthol E-Cigarette Flavors
My favorites: Volcano Menthol Burst, Halo Mystic Menthol
If you smoked cigarettes more for the nicotine and menthol rush than for the taste of the smoke, you’re going to be really excited when you find your ideal e-cigarette flavor. Menthol e-cigarette liquids can give you everything that you want while leaving out the things you don’t want. It’s possible to coax far more menthol into a bottle of e-cigarette liquid than you’d ever be able to get in a cigarette, and combined with a slight hint of pure mint flavor, I find the taste absolutely delicious. You don’t have to feel left out if you prefer a combination of menthol and tobacco flavors, though; many companies make those as well.
Dessert E-Cigarette Flavors
My favorites: Halo Belgian Cocoa, VaporFi Reserve Monkey Business
This is where you start to get e-cigarette flavors that would be completely impossible with tobacco. What dessert flavors have e-cigarette companies managed to recreate in vapor form? Let your imagination run wild, because you can find a vapor version of just about every desert known to man. I’ve tasted the most amazing cocoa and ice cream flavors, bananas foster, tiramisu, lemon ice, cheesecake — you name it. Some of these flavors are virtually indistinguishable from their real life counterparts and are completely calorie-free!
Spice E-Cigarette Flavors
My favorites: NJOY Dragonscape, Virgin Vapor Organic Blue Violet
This is a category that hasn’t developed quite as quickly as some other e-cigarette flavors, perhaps because less people are interested in them. As a result, you have to be careful who you order from because the Chinese attempts to recreate spice flavors have mostly been pretty bad. The flavors I’ve recommended above are some of the rare exceptions.
Fruit and Beverage E-Cigarette Flavors
My favorites: VaporFi Reserve Black Velvet, Halo Malibu Menthol
Like the other e-cigarette flavors mentioned above, this category pretty much runs the gamut of everything you could possibly imagine. You’ve got vapor recreations of classic cocktails like the pina colada, classic summertime drinks like limeade and even some really offbeat items like Darjeeling tea, soda and energy drinks. Some of these flavors work really well but a few are a little strange. I’ve listed my favorites above.
