Choice 7’s E-Cigarette Review

Archived

I have to admit that I’m a sucker for great packaging. In the e-cigarette industry, though, I feel there’s a certain logic to that. After all, it shows pride. Designing a great package proves that you’re serious about company branding and aren’t simply trying to throw any kind of e-cigarette out there to make a quick buck. The Choice 7’s e-cigarette — also known as Choice 7’s — definitely falls into this category. Everything from the cartridge packaging to the portable charging case appears designed to make a great first impression with customers, and first impressions really count in this industry. After first impressions fade, though, product performance is what really matters. Does this product deliver? Find out in my Choice 7’s e-cigarette review.

About the Choice 7’s E-Cigarette

The Choice 7’s e-cigarette uses a simple two-part design. You set it up by charging the battery, connecting a refill cartridge and puffing as you would with a real cigarette. Like most e-cigarettes, it doesn’t have a timer or on/off switch, so you’ll need to manage your nicotine intake yourself. Simply puff until you’re satisfied and store the e-cigarette until the next time. Some of the Choice 7’s e-cigarette kits include storage cases that can actually keep your batteries charged when you aren’t using them.

The selection of Choice 7’s e-cigarette kits is varied enough to please many types of customers but small enough to avoid possible confusion. The least expensive kit includes a single battery, four refill cartridges and a USB charger. Stepping up through the product line, the more expensive kits include features such as a “Stealth” battery with an LED that you can disable for privacy and a portable battery charging case. At $99.95, the Hybrid Kit includes two bottles of nicotine liquid and two batteries with a much higher charge capacity than the standard Choice 7’s e-cigarette battery.

Refill cartridges for the Choice 7’s e-cigarette range in price from $6.50 for two cartridges to $99.95 for 40 cartridges. The available flavors are Tobacco, Menthol, Apple, Blueberry, Cherry, Chocolate, Coffee, Grape, Mocha, Peach, Strawberry and Vanilla. Clearly, there’s something for just about everybody here. If you purchase your refills in packages of ten or more, you also get a cute little box that you can reuse for your other e-cigarette accessories if you like.

Choice 7’s E-Cigarette Review

My main reason for wanting to try the Choice 7’s e-cigarette was all of the praise I’ve seen for the company’s flavored refill cartridges. Although my favorite e-cigarette flavors are all tobaccos and menthols, most e-cigarette owners actually prefer sweeter flavors. If that sounds like you, I think you’re really going to enjoy some of the sweet Choice 7’s flavors such as Chocolate and Strawberry. The Tobacco and Menthol flavors are no slouches, either. The great thing is that when you buy your cartridges in larger packages, you don’t have to go with just one flavor. You select your flavors in groups of two. So, the ten-pack, for example, can contain up to five flavors. If you like an e-cigarette with plenty of variety, that’s definitely a selling point.

The second interesting feature of the Choice 7’s e-cigarette is the portable battery charging case. Most e-cigarette portable charging cases have permanent internal batteries. If the battery in the case stops holding a charge — which tends to happen to all lithium ion batteries in two years or less — you’re out of luck and have to replace the entire case. The No 7 e-cigarette case uses a small square battery pack, similar to the ones used in many mobile phones. You can actually buy extra batteries from the Choice 7’s website for $9.97 each and replace the battery in your charging case whenever you like. If you’re ever going to be away from a power outlet, USB port or car outlet for a very long period, the Choice 7’s charging case helps ensure that you’ll never be without your e-cigarette.

All in all, I believe that the Choice 7’s e-cigarette is a quality product at a reasonable price. If there’s any knock against it — and it’s a rather large one — it’s the fact that the RN4081 threading on the battery isn’t particularly common. This means that if you ever wanted to branch out and try refill cartridges from different vendors, your choices would be limited compared to e-cigarettes with more common threading types such as the V2 e-cigarette and the Volcano Inferno. If you do buy the Choice 7’s e-cigarette, this means that you probably won’t be using refill cartridges from any other vendor. While the Choice 7’s e-cigarette remains a quality product, this design choice makes it difficult to strongly recommend against the competition.
